Liverpool Road – Apartment conversion

Liverpool Road – Conversion of shop into 5 apartments.

Bulwell Restorations acquired 2 shops on the Liverpool road Corridor which was selected under a local authority scheme for redevelopment of dilapidated properties.
Nine Point Eight Construction was instructed to carry out the conversion of the 2 existing shops into 5 one bedroom apartments.
The project required extensive rebuilding and refurbishment works to develop the property into apartments which satisfied current building regulation requirements and the exacting standards required by the property managing company who were appointed to let the apartments on their completion.

Following receipt of an initial scope of works, nine point eight construction worked closely with the project surveyors as the project progressed to develop the designs and specifications of the property to provide a best value solution to a constantly evolving scope of works.

Nine point eight carried out the full refurbishing works to the property which included the rebuilding of the entire front façade and re-roofing the property with reclaimed slate.

An extension was built to the rear of the property to house an extra apartment.

Internally the entire property had a thermal and acoustic upgrade with metal frame systems fitted with high performance insulation and acoustic matting to assure that all apartments achieved current performance standards.
An independent acoustic ceiling was installed throughout the property using acoustic hangers and MF systems.
Nine Point Eight Construction advised on the specification of the thermal upgrade and acoustic systems installed in the building which provided the client with a significant cost saving on the build cost.

All 5 apartments where treated to a full electrical installation, central heating and hot water system, plastering, decoration and installation of kitchens and bathrooms.

During the project we liaised with the design team to develop the design to provide the best structural and aesthetic solutions for the apartments and offer best value to the client.
