Tudor building refurbishment and shop fit out.
Nine Point Eight construction was entrusted with the refurbishment and fit out of this building of historical interest located in the heart of Sale, Manchester.
Working directly with the buildings owner we provided a full design and build service liaising with our client to assure that we delivered the building to their exact needs.
The design and installation of the internal fit out was of particular interest to the client and we worked closely with them to create the image of an American diner, whilst maintaining the architectural merit of the historical building and providing a layout which allowed service to customer both inside the café and passing trade on the high street.
Particular consideration had to be given to site access and protection of the public domain during the works as the property is tightly situated between a canal and railway station with the only access to the rear of the property being through the busy railway station.
The building had fallen into a state of dilapidation and required a full course of refurbishment which included the reconstruction of the gable end which was built in a traditional tudor construction.
Structural refurbishment also included the repair of a corroded floor and roof structure ready for the restoration of the external façade which included a re-roof, restoration of timber frame and installation of windows in keeping with the buildings historical aesthetics.
Internally the building was treated to a full back to brick refurbishment, incorporating a rewire, heating system, plastering, flooring, decorating and installation of restroom.
The fit out of the café was also completed by nine point eight construction including commercial kitchen and sitting area delivering a turnkey project ready for the client to occupy and start trading.
The project was especially a delight to work on as the building of local historical interest attracted a lot of attention from local people and businesses who we were keen to liaise with during the works.
